In the May, 1996, G&S Water Polo Supplies commenced business by announcing the arrival of the Baden Water Polo ball in Australia. Our aim was, and remains, to develop a service whereby our customers could have their needs met promptly and effectively.
After G&S Water Polo Supplies had been trading for only 9 months, Baden Sports Inc, obviously impressed with our progress with Water Polo balls, offered us the Sole Australian Agency for its entire range - Basketballs, Softballs, Baseballs, Volleyballs, Rugby, American Football and Soccer/Netballs - from very good quality, budget-priced balls to the very best available. It was at this point that we modified our business name to the more inclusive G&S Sports Supplies.
In addition to supplying the best value balls on the market:
As is the case with the Water Polo balls, all of these new additions to our product range have been subjected to the most stringent of quality control measures. Baden are top quality balls, and, because of our low overheads, through G&S Sports Supplies the customer buys them at a budget price.
For those with an interest in Social Justice, the really big news is that Baden Sports Inc. has become the first ball manufacturer to produce a Soccer ball that is certified and stamped
NO CHILD OR
SLAVE LABOR
USED ON
THIS BALL
CERTIFIED
Much has been said and written over the past few years about child labour in the manufacturing of consumer products - particularly Soccer and Volleyballs - and it is a fact that a significant number of opposition manufacturers have been cited and publicly criticised for using Child Labour in the manufacture of their sports balls.
Baden has always done its utmost to ensure that child/slave labour has not been used in the manufacture of Baden soccer balls in Pakistan. However, because of the culture and the complicated inspection systems, no manufacturer has ever been able to certify it. Baden has taken a radical initiative that completely eliminates the doubt as to whether other people's children were exploited to make the soccer balls that our children play with. Already, we have moved 90% of our production away from Pakistan to China. The manufacturing process has been revamped and automated so that we can now absolutely guarantee, not only that no human being has been exploited in the process, but also that the Baden ball is more robust than ever because of the additional stitching the process allows.
No other company can make this claim.
Baden has joined international groups such as UNICEF and Save the Children Fund in pledging to eliminate child labour from any part of the production of soccer balls.
To encourage Soccer organisations to take a stand on this important social issue, Baden is offering these revolutionary balls at a most competitive price. In addition, G&S Sports Supplies has been encouraged and assisted by Baden to provide a complementary sample ball to any soccer organisation that shows an interest in the elimination of exploitation in the soccer industry. If you would like to avail yourself of this opportunity or if you would like further information, simply return the attached slip, by mail or fax, or e-mail message.
Across the entire range of Baden balls, there is one ball that is at least as good as anything that is currently available in Australia; in most cases, there is at least one ball that surpasses all else. In every case, no ball surpasses the Baden on a quality-for-price basis. Baden is simply the best money can buy.
Baden balls are currently being assessed by the following organisations:
Basketball: Dandenong Basketball Centre. (Now purchasing for competition use)
