In the May, 1996, G&S Water Polo Supplies commenced business by announcing the arrival of the Baden Water Polo ball in Australia. Our aim was, and remains, to develop a service whereby our customers could request any equipment related to Water Polo and have their needs met promptly and effectively. Since then, much has happened:

• the Baden is now used widely in Victoria, the ACT and Western Australia
• it was used for the 1996 U/17 Nationals Championships in Perth
• it is making steady inroads into NSW, South Australia, Queensland and the Northern Territory
• the Baden is generally recognised as one of only two top quality balls in the world
• it is still possible to buy three Badens for the price of two Mikasas
• G&S Water Polo Supplies has developed a reputation throughout Australia for customer service that is second to none
• we are developing the swimming costumes side of our business to the point where we can offer both standard lycra swimming bathers and "rubber" (polyurethane coated lycra) water polo costumes - eventually in whatever colours the customer may require - a great boost for school and club uniformity.
• we can provide scoreboards and electronic timing devices (both indoor and outdoor) for virtually any sporting application
• we are developing outlets in Europe and New Zealand for Baden balls
• we are developing a service whereby we provide equipment (including goals and nets) for a wide range of sports at discount prices - Tennis, Hockey, Basketball, Soccer, Athletics, and Volleyball

After we had been trading for only 9 months, Baden Sports Inc., obviously impressed with our progress with Water Polo balls, offered us the Sole Agency for Basketballs, Softballs, Baseballs, Volleyballs, Rugby, American Football and Soccer balls. It was at this point that we modified our business name to the more inclusive G&S Sports Supplies
